The Minit Records Story

The opportunity to have a clean copy of  "Oh, I'll Never Be The Same" by The Young Hearts was something I could just not pass up. Other highlights include "He'll be Back" by The Players, "I've Got Love For My Baby" by The Young Hearts, "I'm I ever Gonna See My Baby Again" by Vernon Green And The Medallions.

Here Comes The Hurt

"City Called Loneliville" by Dee Dee, Joseph and David alone make this release a good pick up. Other tracks of interest include "Blind Over You" by Bobby Wade, "Have No Fear" by Ricky Lyons, "I Need You" by The Snapshots and "How Long Will It Last" by The King Pins. A recommended addition to your soul library.

The Hollywood Flames And Friends

The majority of the tracks are early 50's recordings that for the most part I skipped over. Sound quality varies and is a bit low. Highlights include "I Know", Letter To My Love" Believe In Me" along with "Emily" and I'm A Fool" by The Turks.

The Kac-Ties

A few nice Doo Wop ballads in this release such as "Let Your Love Light Shine", "Until We Two Are One", "Walkin' In The Rain" and "Happy Birthday". This one will take more than a casual Doo Wop fan to truly enjoy.

The Dootone Story

Classic LA Doo Wop sounds presented here with the top notch sound quality we come to expect from Ace Records. Highlights are all the well known tracks by The Cufflinx, Don Julian And The Meadowlarks, Vernon Green And The Medallions, The Penguins and Charles McCollough And The Silks. A must for the devoted Doo Wop fan.

The Enjoy Records Story

A one track buy for me on this release. "Sad Song" by The Channels is by far the stand out here. Sound quality varies but the quality on "Sad Song" is very good.

Soul Mania

I took a gamble and lost on this collection. After reading through the artists listed I thought for sure there would be some nice soul ballads but no such luck. If you dig northern soul this might be a treasured collection for you. If you are like me and going after only soul ballads stay away from these. My finger hit the skip button too many times to note down any highlights.
